Royal Jelling is the museum & info. Centre which tells the fascinating story of Jelling as the main-spring in Danish History. Close to the very mounds

that guarded their secrets for so long, Gorm the Old and Harald Blue-Tooth lived their daily lives in Jelling during the late viking period.

Gorm The Old and Harald Blue-Tooth created, in the wild 900's an unique monument, which stretched back into the mists of their pagan past. The two impressive mounds, Haralds runic stone and the lime-stone church are the visible results of the second building phase. Beneath them lie the remains of an enormous ship-setting and the first wooden church.
